Tribute to Fred Showalter
Our dear friend, John Fredrick
"Fred" Showalter, 69, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 15,
2016 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born in Indianapolis on
January 10, 1947 to the late Harvey and Henrietta Showalter. Fred was a 1966
graduate of Southport High School and received an Associate's degree from
the College of DuPage in Chicago, IL. He retired in 2006 after working for
18 years as a skilled tradesman for the Chrysler Corporation.
Fred was both a strong supporter and promoter of the Fly/In Cruise/In, spending countless hours each year distributing flyers in nearby communities and encouraging people to come out and experience the event. His involvement with the Litestar/Pulse Owners' Group, connecting its membership with the Fly/In Cruise/In, was one of his many passions. His Pulse autocycle was always a star attraction.
We all feel blessed to have known Fred. He always had a smile on his face and an entertaining story or joke to share. The Fly/In Cruise/In will not be the same without him. His jovial nature and his consistently helpful energy will definitely be missed by all.
